genus: APOCNOSIS J. Thomson, 1878
species: striata Janson, 1877
origin: Zambia, Mufumbwe; I/2005
origin2: Tanzania, 10 km SE from Lindi; I/2011
wild imago size: 20-22 mm
note: Apocnosis belong to long-lived beetles, imago may live up to 2 years in captivity. Breeding may be simliar to that of Diplognatha, although I have not attempted yet to reproduce them. Wild cought adults rarely oviposit probably due to unsuitable conditions in artifical breeding (wrong humidity or temperature). Undergoing diapause will probably be necessary for mating stimulation and consequent egg laying.

genus: APOCNOSOIDES Antoine, 2001
species: lizleri Antoine, 2001
origin: Uganda, Mt. Elgon; IV/2009
wild imago size: around 16-18 mm
